Art gallery transforms Holtz Children’s Hospital

Jacqueline Roch paced through the hallways of Holtz Children’s Hospital as her son, Lucca, underwent an eight-hour heart surgery.
Lucca was born with Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, a heart condition in which there is an abnormal extra electrical pathway, which can lead to a rapid heart rate. Doctors discovered it when he was 11. Now 16, he has gone through three surgeries.

Dr. Peter J. Bosak, superintendent, Cape May County Department of Mosquito Control won Best of Show in the 2014 National Arts Program (NAP) for Cape May County. Bosak’s sculpture, “Too Close to the Sun,” also won first place in the Intermediate Division.
The Cape May County Culture and Heritage Commission presented awards during the opening of an exhibit Nov. 12 at Middle Township Performing Arts Center (PAC).

Detectives crack huge L.A. art heist; 9 paintings recovered

Nine works of art that were stolen six years ago in one of the largest art heists in L.A. history have been recovered by investigators from the Los Angeles Police Department and the FBI, according to court documents obtained by The Times.
After an undercover operation at a West Los Angeles hotel in October, federal authorities detained Raul Espinoza, 45, who tried to sell the paintings -- which are valued at $10 million -- for $700,000 cash.

Lubbock Celebrates 25th NAP Anniversary

This longstanding NAP show is run by our terrific coordinator, Paula Griffith, who is the Director for the Lubbock Municipal Garden & Arts Center.
