Eligibility

  • Participants must be an employee, volunteer or an immediate family member of an employee, of the University of Maryland Medical Center.
  • Only 2 entries per artist will be admitted.
  • All entries submitted must be the original work of the applicant completed within the last three years and not previously submitted.
  • The National Arts Program and University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center reserve the right to disqualify entries they consider to be unacceptable or inappropriate for a public exhibit.

Entries
  • Entrants may submit only two entries that fit into the listed medium categories.
  • All artwork will need an NAP identification label placed on the back (provided at drop off). 
  • All 2-dimensional entries should be matted, framed and/or ready to hang with wire securely across the back. 
  • All work must measure no more than 48” in any direction or weigh more than 50 pounds unless otherwise stipulated. 
  • Artwork that does not meet size limitations or specifications will be disqualified before judging.

  • Deadline This Registration Form must be received no later than August 9, 2025  to participate in this exhibit.
  • Delivering Entries  All entries must be delivered to W1L202 on the following dates September 15, 16, 18, 19  between the hours of 7am - 10am and 1pm-5pm each day.
  • Reception & Awards A reception and presentation of awards will be held in the First Floor Atrium at the University of Maryland Medical Center Downtown Campus on November 6, 2025 beginning at 5:30pm.
    • Prizes will be awarded by classification:
      • Adult (Amateur, Intermediate and Professional): 3 - First Place Awards of $350; 3 - Second Place Awards of $250; and 3 - Third Place Awards of $150
      • Best of Show Award of $400 
      • Youth / Teen : 2 - First Place Awards of $150; 2- Second Place Awards of $100; and 2 - Third Place Awards of $50
      • Art Education Award of $200
    • Additional awards including Honorable Mentions will be awarded at the discretion of the judges.
    • Awards are limited to one cash award per artist per classification.
  • Public Exhibit The exhibit is free and will be open to the public from October 13 - November 28, 2025.

  • Retrieving Entries Each artist is responsible for retrieving their artwork at W1L202 on November 27 or 28, 2025 between 7am-10am or between 1pm-4pm on both days.  No work is to be removed prior to the end of the exhibition. Neither the University of Maryland Medical Center nor the National Arts Program will be responsible for unclaimed works.

  • Liability Every attempt will be made to preserve, secure and protect each entry submitted; but neither the National Arts Program nor the University of Maryland Medical Center can be held responsible for damages, loss of art entries, or changes/cancellation of this exhibit due to low participation or unforeseen circumstances. The National Arts Program and University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center reserve the right to disqualify entries they consider to be unacceptable or inappropriate for a public exhibit. The placing of art in the exhibition constitutes an agreement on the part of the entrant with conditions herein set forth.  The National Arts Program and the University of Maryland Medical Center reserve the right to publish for publicity purposes reproductions of the entries.  The National Arts Program for the University of Maryland Medical Center is a public exhibit and photographing/filming of the exhibit is encouraged.
