How would a landscape feel if it were occupied by something not made by or for humans, something existing without regard to our sentiments? The graphite drawing Phyto Ost 2 combines concepts from exobiology, artificial evolution, technology-infused ecosystems and mathematics to create an unearthly or distant-future plant-like form situated in an otherwise lifeless landscape. The drawing is part of a series of hand-drawn images that explore non-anthropoid and feral-technology-infused entities and ecosystems. A further goal of these works is to stimulate emotions or experiences associated with viewing objects of unknown origin, with no name, and with no overtly human connection. Phyto Ost 2 also contains elements of surrealism, photo-realism, and landscape rendering and juxtaposes the concepts of subject and background by including a high level of detail throughout the rendering.

Here's another piece ready for your viewing enjoyment—when working simultaneously on about 20 works, the time when they can truly be consider ready changes often.
The piece, like all the others in the series, is trying to take to the next level the artistic philosophy of Agostino Bonalumi and Lucio Fontana, whose approach to the flat surface makes a lot of sense thus when merged together, the Bonalumi's space can physically generate three dimensions just by using Fontana's solution to "open up space," in which case the flat art piece can escape the two dimensional trap. The logic behind this line of action is that in order to build a three dimensional space you need 2-D elements or the 3-D doesn't happen, and layers become the perfect solution!

On a fall trip to Black Water Falls State Park, I visited Elakala Falls along Shays Run. There are 5 different falls along this watershed. This image shows the first falls which is only a short walk from the park lodge. The water levels were low making it easier to get close to the falls without getting covered in water spray from the falls. I often wear a pair of hip waders which allow me to get into the water and down close to the stream. I noticed a series of small pools that were filled with water bubbles and leaves and composed my shot with this area as the foreground. I used a polarizer to help reduce the glare and reduce light which allows for a longer shutter speed of 3-4 seconds. The long shutter speed creates the swirling effect of the bubbles and leaves in the pool of water.
