Starlight and Firelight Dreams

Beautiful Tribal Young Woman dreams by the fire in her Wetu. Today, she danced The Blanket Dance with this blanket, a treasured gift from her Grandmother. “I will care for you, I will keep you warm, her feet danced the words. Above her, the opening in the Wetu pours starlight on her hair, lighting her braids. Of what does she dream,, between Starlight and Firelight.

This painting is a First Class VIP Graduate Baby with a different twist expressing intelligence - E=mc2, Baby!
The VIP acronym denotes two principles: (1) Very Important Person and (2) Victory In Progress
The Bibb County School District uses the acronym to denote Victory In Progress.  I am a substitute teaching and tutor in the school system, I see the progress.  Quite impressive and inspired me to paint my impression on canvas.

A sleek and graceful cougar known for his strength and awesome ability to jump makes his decision to attack as he leaps towards the deer.  Once airborne, he has little control over where he will land, knowing it will be a hit or miss.   The alert deer having heard the cat’s take-off wastes no time in swiftly leaping to safety. There will be another time for the cougar as he successfully closes 80% of all stalks with a kill.  The deer has made this his great escape in the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

I painted this using a warm color palette, as I wanted to give the viewer a very cozy feeling inside. I also wanted this piece to symbolize a sweet and loving couple, enjoying the world around them and finding their own happily ever after.
