Artist Opportunity: Contribute Art to Patagonia 'Vote The Environment'
Vote the Environment In the Midterm Elections
We face a great crisis: climate change, extinction, destruction of wild places – and we must all raise our voices: in our work, in our schools and, most important, at the ballot box.
Governments can act: President Obama recently ordered reduction of carbon emissions by 30% by 2030. Citizens can lead: divesting from fossil fuels is gaining momentum across college campuses. The tide is turning and we can’t stop now. Voting is an action we can all take, the ballot a place we can all be heard. That’s why we must turn out the vote for the midterm elections on Nov. 4, 2014.
Patagonia, the Creative Action Network and the Canary Project are asking artists and designers to create a collection of “Vote the Environment” designs that will be turned into buttons, stickers, prints and T-shirts. We know artists can create a sense of pride, urgency and can-do spirit for this movement.
We will print all designs that meet the following requirements and make them available for sale with 40% of the profits benefiting the artists. The campaign is open-ended but with the goal of motivating potential voters please get your designs in in advance of the 2014 Midterm Elections. If you have any questions or need feedback on your work, please email us at contribute@thecreativeactionnetwork.com.
