ArtPrize $200,000 Top Awards draw attention to Grand Rapids

It’s unorthodox, highly disruptive, and undeniably intriguing to the art world and the public alike

ArtPrize is globally famous as the art competition with the planet’s largest prizes, and the fall event has made Grand Rapids a name in the arts community. For 19 days, three square miles of downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan, become an open playing field where anyone can find a voice in the conversation about what is art and why it matters. Art from around the world pops up in every inch of downtown, and it’s all free and open to the public.

This year, ArtPrize runs September 24 through October 12. The prize money is the largest of its kind in the world and the judging process empowers ordinary people to cast their vote.

ArtPrize provides a platform for anyone over the age of 18 to be an artist, any space within the ArtPrize district to be a venue, and anyone who loves art to get involved. Click here for more information.
