City of Tacoma Breaks Record in Year Five
The City of Tacoma celebrated five years with the National Arts Program® this past week with a record number of participants. With over 135 pieces were hung in two locations, the Municipal Building and the Public Utilities offices, the show has "become a highlight for the employees each year," says Coordinator Naomi Strom-Avila. NAP Executive Director Jackie Szafara was on hand to help them celebrate and hand out the awards. She emphasized to the audience the need to keep art alive in their daily life and thanked them for sharing it with others. She also encouraged participants to upload to the NAP gallery to further their experience.
