Cleveland Foundation Commits $150,000 to Public Art

The Cleveland Foundation has committed $150,000 to installing public art along the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority’s Red Line, which leads between the airport and city center. According to Crain’s, the money will support LAND studio’s efforts to revamp the area to accommodate public artworks. The foundation eventually aims to pledge more money to other transit lines in the city as well, “creating one of the nation’s largest outdoor art galleries,” as it said in a statement.

“This project showcases the power of the arts to transform community spaces,” said Lillian Kuri, Cleveland Foundation program director for architecture, urban design, and sustainable development. A curatorial team will choose the local and international artists who will be involved in the project.
