Coordinator's Promotion and Publicity Efforts Pay off in Manchester
It was standing room only as the winners pose with Mayor Ted Gatsas after the awards presentation.
Vicki Ferraro took over the responsibility of coordinating the NAP show for the City of Manchester, NH in 2010 and has done a tremendous job helping the show come into its own over the last five years. This year was no exception with one of the largest turnouts to date in both pieces of artwork and attendance at the awards reception held on July 23rd. A major part of this growth can be attributed to Vicki’s promotion of the show not only to the potential participating artists, but to the general public as well, making sure everyone is aware of the event taking place at City Hall. Leading up to and after the awards reception, there were a number of printed articles about the show featuring large color images of artwork and participants that ran in several local newspapers including the New Hampshire Union Leader. In addition, Vicki even got Mayor Ted Gatsas, a longtime supporter of the show, involved in promoting the show by having him Instagram a collage of the winning artwork captioned with #talent.
Getting Mayor Gatsas involved in the NAP is an easy task as he truly believes in the talents of his employees and their family members, making it a point to always attend the awards reception to personally recognize them for their artistic gifts. When asked about the show, he commented that, “Every year it keeps getting bigger. It’s great to know that the city of Manchester has so many talented artists.”
Along with recognizing the award winners, Mayor Gatsas also stepped in on behalf of the NAP at the awards reception to present the Tenth Anniversary award to Vicki in honor of all her hard work over the years. Without coordinators like Vicki, the NAP would not be able to run such professional and successful shows across the county.
