Museum Showcases the Art of School District Employees
Bibb County School District employees, retirees and their family members were given the opportunity to express themselves creatively by taking part in the 2nd Exhibit of the National Arts Program. This Bibb County showcase is a collaboration that coordinator Donald Druitt brought together, once again, by connecting the sponsor organizations including the NAP, Bibb School District, Tubman Museum and Macon Arts Alliance. So often school districts focus on showcasing and celebrating the artistic talents of their students. This show is something special in that it recognizes the unique talents of the employees and celebrates those who may not otherwise have an opportunity to share their creativity.
On November 4th the exhibit opened at the Tubman Museum with an astounding 257 pieces of artwork on display by the employees, retirees and their families. The show represents over 150 individual artists and kicked off with a reception and awards presentation which was well attended by both participants and their guests. We congratulate coordinator Donald Druitt and all who helped to pulled off another amazing showcase of the talent that exists in this community. The exhibit will be on display in the Tubman Museum through December 8th.
