National Arts Program® Exhibition at Nic

The National Arts Program® exhibition, featuring almost 100 works by area city, county and school district employees and their families, is now open in the Rosenthal Gallery at the Nicolaysen Art Museum.

The exhibition, which includes paintings, drawings, photos, sculptures and textiles, continues through June 30.

“We host this exhibition of work every year as part of the Nic Fest, our annual summer arts festival,” Director of Communications Clay Anthony said. “This year we decided we should extend the exhibition for the entire month of June so more people can enjoy it.”

For the next two weeks, the public is invited to vote on their favorite pieces in five categories – Amateur, Intermediate, Professional for Adults, Youth 12 & Under and Teen 13-18. The winners will be recognized at noon June 22 during an awards ceremony at the museum. There is $2,400 in prize money available.

For 29 years, the National Arts Program® has held annual exhibits featuring the art works of employees and their families in more than 450 large and small cities, counties, airports, hospitals and other organizations. For more information about the program, visit www.nationalartsprogram.org.
