Tacoma art exhibit honors “Hero Dogs”

“Hero Dogs: All Gave Some, Some Gave All,” a series of 22 paintings, pastels and digital work by Janette Stiles, is on display now in the Tacoma Municipal Building, 12th Floor, Tacoma City Hall Gallery. Each piece in the exhibit honors a different service dog and is accompanied by information on the animal and its act of bravery. From police dogs, to bomb-sniffing dogs, to rescue dogs, the series honors and memorializes these highly-trained four-legged friends. The exhibit will be on display through Oct. 31, and is the first in a series of month-long shows featuring visual art created by 2011 National Arts Program® award winners.
