CHAGALL, MATISSE, HARING ART LEFT ON STREET IS STOLEN, OF COURSE

Here's a pro tip:

If you have a quarter-million dollars worth of Chagall, Matisse and Keith Haring art stuffed in a trailer, try not to park it on a Los Angeles street and leave it there.

The Los Angeles Police Department today asked for the public's help in its search for the stolen art.

The theft happened way back in November, on the 20th to be precise, when a parked 2005 Haulmark trailer was hauled off with the art inside, according to an LAPD statement.

Taken were paintings, prints and sculptures by Joan Miró, Keith Haring, Leroy Neiman, Marc Chagall and Henri Matisse, cops said. All in all, it was worth $250,000, according to the LAPD.

The 24-foot trailer was parked at Nordhoff Street and Alabama Avenue — you know, where the Canoga Park Alabama gang hangs out. Makes sense.

We wonder if insurance has covered this theft.

Why in the world would you park such a collection on an L.A. city street? A detective with the Commercial Crimes Art Theft Detail said, "To the best of my knowledge, it was a warehouse spacing issue."

Ah, space. Yeah, we keep our cash on the street when we run out of space, too.

In any case, anyone with information on this crime was asked to call art theft investigators at 213-486-6940.
