Lurie Children’s Hospital Celebrates NAP Anniversary
This year marks the 5th Anniversary for the National Arts Program® at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. Lisa Mulvaney, Creative Arts Program Coordinator, has done a phenomenal job running this show for five years and was presented with our crystal anniversary award by NAP Board Member, Jill Mirkovic. Jill was honored to attend their awards ceremony and commented that, “The Lurie show is a great example of what all the NAP shows strive to achieve, providing ‘artists’ inspiration to exhibit their talents. One exhibitor explained how the NAP got her back painting after several years off. She used the shows structure and deadlines to force herself to paint a piece for the show. She won first place in her division and someone offered to buy her piece at the reception. Another exhibitor was the maintenance man who has actually been hanging the artwork for each of the last five years. With some encouragement from the staff, he entered a piece this year and won a prize. His whole family and grandchildren came to the reception and awards ceremony.”
We are grateful for Lisa and her dedication to this program and look forward to the next five years of exhibits at this remarkable hospital.
