Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport Celebrated their Fifth Anniversary NAP Exhibit
Here we are now, looking back at a time in early March when the busiest airport in the world was the stage for another amazing National Arts Program awards reception! As an artist, having your work professionally displayed in the Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport must be such a thrill. This year for their Fifth Anniversary NAP Exhibit, 221 pieces of art were hung throughout both the Atrium Gallery and T Concourse Gallery. The showcase opened on September 6th, 2019 and their awards reception was held on March 4th with 237 guests in attendance to enjoy the festivities.
At the NAP offices we often receive questions about the Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport exhibit and specific artworks that are displayed. Travelers are amazed at the quality of the work and wonder how they caurchase the art or get in touch with an artist. Apparently, these kinds of phone calls are an almost daily occurrence at the Airport Art Program offices. Since the artwork display cases are very prominently placed and thousands of passengers and employees enjoy them every day, we are not surprised at how much interest they generate from admirers.
The Airport Arts Program staff including; Benjamin Austin, Daricia Mia DeMarr, Jess Bernhart and David Vogt, once again, did an amazing job coordinating this large showcase. The marvelous David Vogt, ATL’s Art Program Manager, brought the National Arts Program exhibit to the airport five years ago. He officially retires this year becoming a full-time artist after so many years of bringing art to the people of the world through his tremendous airport program. David lead the way and set the stage for current and future employees and their families to showcase their talents for years to come through their successful National Arts Program exhibit. He has done so much for artists through the Airport Art Program in Atlanta, Georgia but we are most grateful to David for having such a strong understanding and appreciation of the benefits of our program and its importance on such a grand public stage.
