Twenty Percent Jump in Participation for Orlando

The City of Orlando had a very successful showing for their Ninth Annual National Arts Program® “City ArtWorks” Exhibition. Participation was up twenty percent and the display of artworks looked amazing. Not only did they develop a website to advertise the event but they also notified all departments and held a photography workshop featuring City photographer, Ed Richter.

The award reception, which took place on June 21st, was hosted by Robert Bowden, Director of Harry P. Leu Gardens and Mayor Buddy Dyer was also in attendance. During the presentation, Coordinator Paul Wenzel, featured a power point show that included all of the participant’s artworks and as the winners were announced, their artwork was shown on the screen. This is always a great way of honoring the artist while allowing the reception attendees to see which pieces were being recognized by the judges. In addition Paul had T-shirts made for participants, sponsored a creative kids event at the reception, and handed out CD’s of the awards power point presentation to artists.

This was another great year with the City of Orlando and the NAP is looking forward to celebrating their tenth anniversary in 2013!
