Cristina Pinton
Cristina has been the Chairperson of the Visual Arts Department at Avon Old Farms School since 2012, establishing an official gallery on campus, multi-school student exhibits and off-campus opportunities for students. In 2016 she pioneered the Advanced Independent Project internship program. She acts as co-advisor for the CT National Arts Program, established a chapter of the National Arts Honor Society in 2019, and has been an AP Art & Design portfolio scorer for the past 3 years. She was awarded the CAEA Art Educator of the Year in 2019, and the NAEA Connecticut Teacher of the Year in 2020. In 2017 she received the Kenneth A. Fanning Faculty Award from Avon Old Farms. With a love for lesson design, she have published a dozen articles for School Arts magazine through Davis Publications, including an article in the book School Arts Collection: Contemporary Art. Cristina is deeply passionate about boys' arts education.
Cristina is a “mama” of two boys with infinite energy, loves to cook Albanian and Italian food with her husband, take walks, sip caffe, watch soccer and visit family in Italy whenever possible. Her photography, artist books and drawings center on themes of nostalgia, religion, familial relationships and heritage
