Taylor Horton
I am an artist based in Sonoma County, California, and I love to merge and push the boundaries of the two artistic worlds: Painting and Clothing Design. Thus, when you explore my portfolio, much of the mediums I work with range from hand-painted, up-cycled clothing to completed canvases, which often turn into the basis for my own printed designs.
Through my work, I like to dive into and express the lessons I've learned through the pressurized, yet universal experience of human hardship. In fact, much of my creations are borne out of my own personal journey towards mental health recovery.
As a neurodivergent woman living with mental health conditions, I hope to communicate the multitude of overlapping thoughts and emotions my experience has brought forth to me. With the conditions I live with, feelings like overwhelm, sorrow, and hopelessness can easily cloud my vision, and color the world I live in. Yet, to sublimate this pain, I often turn to my art to transmute this tangled atmosphere into something clearer and more beautiful, something others may see themselves in as well.
