The majority of my work centers around traditional Hawaiian hula implements, weapons and personal adornments. I credit my Kumu Hula John Keola Lake and Halau Mele for giving me the inspiration to learn and create.
Each piece I craft is intended for use in hula, ceremony or in traditional martial arts training. These pieces were not made to be left on a shelf collecting dust. When completed each unique piece has a life of its own which is further imbued with the personal mana of the owner.
