KIRAN WASIM
Kiran is a self-taught artist with a passion for advocating cultural diversity andinclusivity via art. She incorporates her Islamic heritage and South Asian culture to create her artwork
Kiran uses calligraphy as the main medium to create her work. She mostly likes to paint works of poetry from Urdu, Arabic and Farsi languages as well as religious text from the Holy Quran and adorning them with beautiful motifs and patterns that are inspired by the arts and architecture from South Asia, Central Asia and Middle east.
Her work has been published (2023,2024 2025) in Human Touch magazine -an annual juried collection of original prose, poetry, graphic arts, photography, music and video created and contributed by members and friends of the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus.
Kiran’s artwork has been sold at auctions to raise funds for various local and global non-profit organizations.
Kiran is a community leader and volunteer and contributes her time and her art to various causes near and dear to her.
In her day job, Kiran works as a Medical Lab Scientist at University of Colorado Hospital -clinical and reference lab.
Kiran is originally from Pakistan and lives in Aurora, Colorado with her husband and three daughters.
