Some individuals purchase luxury cars and high-end accessories during their midlife crisis, I became captivated by texture on canvas. I wanted a large piece of art for my dining room that I felt connected to but didn’t want to break the bank. After years of watching my mother wield a watercolor paintbrush, I wondered if I might possess some hidden artistic abilities to create works for myself. I took an online course, purchased all the necessary tools (pastes, canvases, brushes, scrapers and paints) then played, practiced and experimented diligently in the evenings after putting my little girl to bed. I was so taken aback by how captivating and calming my small paintings made me feel that I summoned the courage to tackle the 30x48 inch piece. It now resides in my dining room and is my pride and joy (apart from my 4 year old daughter). I may have broken the bank just a bit in the end, but I am utterly enamored with my new hobby! In just under two years, I have sold more than fifteen pieces and have had my work displayed at five spaces and I have no plans on slowing down. I don't know about
