Long-term librarian, married to a librarian. Have enjoyed photography, music, poetry, and other arts & crafts from an early age. I don't have high-end photo equipment but try to capture what is beautiful and/or interesting to me and hopefully others. I particularly like flowers, patterns (abstract and natural), and sky/landscapes.

This fallen cottonwood leaf caught my attention with its skeleton-bone-like pattern of decay along its veins, and the contrast of light and dark against the even darker aggregate pavement which has small spots of color in the pebbling. Taken on the former Nebraska State Fair grounds, October 30, 2009, Lincoln, NE.

A close shot of a walkway leading to the Visitor Information Center in Galesburg, Illinois, home of Purington Brick company and other historical brick-makers. I really like the variety of patterns of bricks and the swirls of color, along with the off-set paving pattern. And in naming it, I was hearing both the Aerosmith song and the classic comedic line (used in "Arthur", "Young Frankenstein", etc.) in my head. Taken April 7, 2011.

No filters or fancy settings, just snapped a glistening shot of a water lily leaf on a sunny day at a city park, Sunken Gardens, while visiting it on my birthday. Taken in Lincoln, Nebraska, on September 19, 2011.

I was running around by our State Capitol building trying to get some cool shots on a very stormy summer night and just happened to have this line up perfectly to capture it before the rainbow faded away a couple of minutes later. The flags are on the Capitol grounds, and there are several churches on surrounding blocks. I made a minor touch-up to the lower part of the evergreen tree to hide a distracting bright yellow sign. Taken on July 24, 2011, in Lincoln, Nebraska.
