I am Dominick Gibson, an artist based in Cleveland, Ohio. I have been practicing my craft since a child, and as of recently I have been exploring the oil painting medium. I feel very drawn to the oil paint in particular because the color is much more rich, allowing me to convey emotion. I believe in my work color conveys tone and a deep longing to represent my feelings, while also being sincere to the likeness which I intend to capture. I have been growing in my faith since the year 2020 and it has been the predominate focus expressed in my art. In every piece I am influenced by something greater than myself, a force whose nature I could not wholly capture in a million words let alone any number of works of art. Instead I commit myself to each piece as an act of devotion to my God with reverence, awe and admiration of my God as the ultimate artist; not just for creating me but this entire universe and space in which I draw my inspiration from.
