After teaching adults and children for many years, I now devote my professional life to painting full time. I make watercolor paintings using vibrant colors to describe landscapes and other subjects that inspire me. Customers and friends monitor my art on my website, and visit my twice yearly studio sales. I teach beginners and continuing watercolor students at the Durham Arts Council. My work has been shown and sold in exhibits and galleries in Mid-Michigan, Durham North Carolina, Carrboro North Carolina and Greensboro North Carolina.
Blue Ridge Yellow Sky
Blue Ridge Yellow Sky
Works on Paper
I fell in love with the mountains in my adopted state of North Carolina. They have inspired me over and over. This work is watercolor on paper coated with gesso, a textural ground. I challenged myself to create the push-pull of textured mountains and tree line with the light and shadow of the sky at an exciting point of the day.

Works on Paper
A two-week painting excursion in France provided photos of many lovely places. This is the small village in which we stayed. I was fascinated with the reflections of buildings on the river.

Elora Cottage
Works on Paper
I stumbled on this cottage while exploring the beautiful village of Elora, in southern Ontario. I was inspired to paint the light that fell across the walls and roof.
