I am originally from Wendell, NC but have lived here in New Castle, Delaware since 1997. My first interest in art occurred in 1974 when, at the age of 18, I bought my first 35mm camera and began learning black & white darkroom work and basic photography.
Since 1998, the year I got my first computer, I have been teaching myself about digital photography and computer art using various software programs. Many of my digital photo creations can be found on my Face Book page: CHARLES YOUNG, email :“YOUNGWOODCREECH@COMCAST.NET”

I gave this squirrel the name peanut because I could not tell if it was male or female. The green in the upper left corner is a discarded Christmas tree. I took this picture while lying on the floor just inside of my patio door, that's how I got the eye-to eye shot just 4 foot away from the subject.

I took this picture in August 2011 at a friends house. This shot was the best of a half dozen I made of the subject. I entered this photo in the Delaware State Employee Art Contest along with I picture called Peanut. The Venue is January 9, 2012 in Wilmington Delaware.

Entered in the 2nd Annual Delaware State Employee Art Contest 2013 This item started with a wine crate and ended up as a shadow box with primarily pictures of myself from when I was 3 months old until present. I used shapes and colors in the pictures to show the stages and moods of life. I created the heavens by hanging certain shapes and below I brought things down to earth with the graveyard scene. The hanging items in the sky will rotate when you blow into the holes on the end of the box. The frontal plastic sheet protects the work and allows for an area to paste some pictures to help creating the 3D effect.
