Susan learned to hook in the late 1980's. She was hooked by the ability to be creative with fiber without a precise directions on how to develop pieces. One's artistic side is allowed to develop and she encourages that creativity in her students of today.
After developing a variety of pieces in different genres of hooking (pictorials, florals, geometrics, orientals and so on) Susan started teaching hooking as well as encouraging it through hosting of workshops. Susan is a certified McGown Rug Hooking Teacher and has also studied teaching under the Association of Traditional Hooking Artists of which she is a member.
