When she’s not on the road performing, singer-songwriter and visual artist Kerri Powers resides and works in her home studio in rural northwest Connecticut. Her most recent collection, “Tom’s Garden,” was spurred by the passing of her father last year, starting with the first painting, “Funeral Flowers.” The artist says, “I’m actually surprised at how colorful my grief is. Painting these pieces has been a comfort.”
She is most inspired by all of the elements found in nature.

This was the initial painting and inspiration for a new collection of works called, "Tom's Garden," a tribute to my father after he passed from complications of vascular dementia.
