As a child in San Francisco I spent many hours drawing superheroes (Batman is still my favorite). I graduated to my first real set of oils at age 12 and my training in art began at the University of San Francisco/Academy of Art. With a Masters Degree in Planning from the University of Virginia I returned to California and started a 23-year career in city planning. I now devote more time to painting. I enjoy painting the built environment and the grittier side of urban life. I also love the Southwest and the beauty of Sonoma County, which I’ve called home since 1999.
