On my first visit to Alaska [in 1998] I saw ice climbers for the first time. I created the mixed media image "Watching for Winter" in memory of that sight. Note that this image was done in 3D: acrylic paint, copper, lava, modeling paste. The larger face is a depiction of winter watching the much smaller ice climber as if one was watching the other. [The climber was made with modeling paste, then painted with acrylics.]

I couldn't resist painting my wife's cat as he enjoyed the 1st warm day of sun. Gary was 18 lbs when the painting was made; he's now down to 17 lbs at 9 years old.
