First introduced to clay in college and falling in love with the medium, I am now creating ceramic sculpture after retiring from WKYT-TV (CBS affilliate) as Art Director for 30 years.
Those years in advertising affect my work. I do not want the message to be obscure. Using universal symbols and iconography in my pieces helps to communicate by relating to the experiences and associations of the viewer.
Inspirations come from headlines and recurring societal themes. The whimsical and the unexpected are often part of the creations.
