David Montefiore began studying with Cortland W. Butterfield, one of America’s foremost portrait painters [Dame Margot Fonteyn, Pablo Casals and Bianca & Mick Jagger] while working at his first job at the Bucks County Arts Center in New Hope, Pennsylvania. His first commission came at age 20 for his mural at Base Operations - McGuire Air Force Base, New Jersey on the “History of Aviation” while on active duty for the United States Air Force. “The Tucson Portfolio” is his most recent endeavor.
