Ribbon Candy III
Craft
A kiln formed platter. This platter was created by first stacking layers of glass suspended on stainless steel rods in the kiln to create a cascade flow pattern. The resulting slab was then sliced and butterflied to reveal the "ribbon candy." It was then arranged by layering red, yellow and red iridized glass and fused. The piece was then cold worked to polish the edges and finally back into the kiln to slump for it's final shape.
