I began my photography hobby several years ago and in the past year, I've had wonderful opportunities to photograph concerts, musical theater, and work with local musicians. I have a full-time day job, and my camera is my weekend escape. I enjoy the story behind the photo as much as capturing the emotion and drama of a scene. My focus is highlighting programs that support the community and local musicians. My goal is to capture images that lend itself to an article or short story. I hope to improve my photojournalism just in time for my retirement so I can start a new chapter in my life.

Captured backstage at the Greater Austin High School Musical Theater Awards ceremony, this dancer exits after his performance to join his troupe. Over a dozen high school musical theater troupes practiced for weeks leading up to this one-night event. Another six hours of rehearsals got the kids prepared on the day of the show. Powerful stage lights provided wonderful silhouettes, a timeless glimpse into the inner workings of putting on a major performance.
