Good art is not what it looks like but what it does to us.

Works on Paper
The medium I used was pen on toned paper. A friend of mine is completely self reliant. I noticed that I relied on my parents for everything. I wanted to reflect on that idea. While I was making my piece, I wanted to include aspects of my own life that I've been given but not earned. I came up with the title before I created the piece, and this helped me discover how I wanted my composition to look. In the past, I had created pen drawings in my sketchbook, but never on a large scale. I wanted to expand on my pen skills through this piece. I learned how to cohere my shading on a larger scale and create my own compositions and subject matter. Looking back, I feel my drawing was successful in capturing the idea of being spoonfed. Overall I am glad to have spent time creating this piece and I feel it has advanced my skills as an artist.
