Barbara Evans is a pretty dope artist. With God given talent and ability she creates pieces that tell a story, encourages self reflection and thought. She draws inspiration from spirituality, music, nature and, social issues. Her main medium of creation is usually acrylics, but lately she has been creating pieces using hair, feathers, fabrics, leather and metal.
Due to our current social conditions you will likely find hanging out at her desk in her living room. Painting along to the sounds of her sons yelling at Fortnite and Roblox, collectively.

Generational Trauma Unmasked - 6 - 11x14 inch canvas broads depicting the life of the dreadful mask worn by many Black Americans throughout the history of America. Each board shows the pain felt by the individual in direct relation to the events taking place around them, but the mask hides their true feelings and emotions for their survival. Throughout time the mask becomes worn and damaged and the younger generations don’t feel the need to hide their true selves. The last board reflects our hope for our future generations and the burning of the mask.
