Annalouise Coretti Artist Statement I use my camera like a pair of eyes much better than my own. It captures moments that I want to remember. I begin by foreseeing a vision in my head and then act upon securing it on film or digitally. I do not like to manipulate my pictures as they are the product of what I want the spectator to see. I like to photograph without flash using existing light, to keep a natural feel to the subject. My body of work consists of a variety of themes, used in different formats: fine art, portraiture, abstract, and nature.

This man lives in a nursing home, where my Mom was. I asked him if I could take his picture, he replied,"Si". I never knew his name. Everyone just called him,"Papi". He looked like a man who just won a fight, with the towel around his neck. I thought his face showed alot of character.
