I love nature, anything from animals to landscapes, living to not so much, beautiful or ugly. The incredible diversity slaps me and says "paint me." What medium do I use, you ask? Drawing with charcoal and pastel is fun and exciting, the way oil paint flows off the brush is intoxicating, the delicate strength of gouache brings me back for more. How can I choose just one? My goal with painting is to express emotions, feelings and capture thought. I'll get there one day, as for now, I'm enjoying the journey.

Barn Owls are one of my favorite birds. For this picture I used pastels on pastel mat. The limited palette allowed me to play with values and helped me bring to life this beautiful creature.

Going through life is hard, yet rewarding. We press on despite how bad the storm gets, or how many come our way. We may start to weaken, the love we gain keeps building us up, keeping us strong for many years. Allowing us to weather the storm. This was done in pastel on pastel mat.
