Andrea Campanella is a native of Rome, Italy where he received his Bachelor and Master degree in Biology. He always strives to look at things from different perspectives, composing the images that he is picturing in his mind. He lived in Europe, South America and the US. He currently lives in the mountains of Colorado at 9,500 ft of altitude. Andrea’s favorite photography quote is :”You don’t take a picture, you make it” by Ansel Adams.
Mystic Flight

Unusual thick fog in Mesilla can create the conditions for stunning images. While driving on a back road I saw flocks of ravens flying through the mist. It was just a matter of looking for the right spot and wait……… Mesilla, NM (2012)

Chains
Chains
Photography
Chains may represent constriction to some people. I like to see them as a strong connection of links used to prevent something from drifting away. I believe there is a strong similitude between links and human beings.
The real voyage of discovery consist not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes.” -Marcel Proust- France (1871-1922)

Mystery Door
Mystery Door
Photography
Doors represent a way to get in or out of something. Sometimes they just look incredibly intriguing. This door called my attention because it was mysterious and arrogant in its humbleness. Bar Harbor, ME (2013)

Life Under Tiles
Life Under Tiles

Roofs and tiles are often interesting, but it’s what is under that really fascinates me. I love to walk the streets of historic places and look through the windows for unique architectural or interior design elements. Milano, Italy (2012)

Although photographing people is not my central theme, I do like to freeze moments or subjects that strike my attention. In this case it was the innocence and simplicity characterizing childhood. Pololu Beach, HI (2010)

Longing Freedom
Longing Freedom
Photography
How many times does it happen that we look insistently for something and not find it, only later to discover it was right there in front of our eyes all of the time? Sometimes it’s just the current state of mind that prevents us from reaching our goals. Las Cruces, NM (2012)

I was leaving the Range with no intention of taking pictures. The sun had almost set behind the mountains when I saw the cattle in a distance running toward me. In a moment I got off the car, checked the camera settings and shot. The result truly amazed me. Jornada Experimental Range, NM (2011)

The Show is Over
The Show is Over

This photograph well describes real life. No matter how good the show is, at some point it has to end and we need to move on. Here the silhouette of the man closing the curtain and the contrast between B&W and colors add drama to the scene. Roma, Italy (2013)
