I've been studying photography for a couple of years now -- my first attempt at "visual" art. The idea that the non-empirical "essence" of a thing can be somehow captured in a photograph, an entirely empirical medium, fascinates me. As I search for these images in every waking moment, I delight in the new world view that this new focus provides.
