After retirement, I began to dabble in creative works. Dabbling became obsession. My real leap artistically took off with spirit dolls. My first attempt, which was a Barbie doll head stuck on a branch wrapped in yarn, threads, wire and beads was pretty sad, but yet the beginning of something special. My brother-in-law, a heart transplant recipient and an artist, named my work 'Art on a Stick'. From Barbie doll heads, I moved to unpainted clay and finally, moving beyond my fear of picking up a paint brush, their faces came alive and their spirits soared as did I.
