I am an eclectic figurative artist who explores the human condition, both personally and globally. By investigating the figure, I try to approach a wide range of topics by drawing from people's emotions. Humans are anthropomorphic creatures by nature: we see faces in almost everything. When people view my art, I want them to see themselves reflected in the figures I portray, to establish a greater sense of understanding between them and the subject of the work.

In the aftermath of the Santa Rosa fires, I couldn't help but relate the losses that so many families suffered to the loss of memories altogether. This lead me to compare the event to another tragedy which afflicts many families, including my own: caring for someone diagnosed with dementia. In this piece, the woman's mind is like a house up in flames, slowly burning away her memories and her identity until only embers will be left of who she once was.
