Having fallen in love with photography and arts as a teen, I was fortunate enough to have a High School with an extensive Arts Program. I took as many art classes as I could fit in with my required classes. From Studio-in-Art, to Jewelery Making, Calligraphy and Photography, I filled my pallet. Although I was primarily a Photo Student taking 3 years of Photography Classes, I mostly use the Calligraphy today that I learned all those years ago. Photography is still a passion and I still have and use my own darkroom to develop and print my own Black and White photographs.

This is a photograph taken with a Minolta X370 35mm film camera using Kodak Tri-X Pan 400 film. It is of some of the ruins of the old gunpowder mill complex, built by Asa Taylor in 1816 and operated by the Laflin & Rand Powder Company after 1869, located in the Town of Newburgh, NY in Algonquin Park. The mill produced gun powder for local residents for hunting and sport at the time before producing finer smokeless powder used by the Union Army in the Civil War.
