Carlos Nieto III is a professional, self-taught artist from Los Angeles. He creates masterpieces in pencil, charcoal, pastel, watercolor and oil that literally jump off the canvas. Carlos has followed in the footsteps of great art masters, observing & analyzing natural phenomena. His art celebrates life, nature and the human spirit. Carlos also plays bass for the pop punk band Harmful if Swallowed, writes his own music, is working on a graphic novel and a webisode series all about the nature of art and he blogs at: “The Big Blue C” This renaissance man’s creativity truly knows no boundaries!

I Am That I am features a man holding up his left hand in a fashion similar to that of Christ's "Peace unto you" gesture. his other hand is open to recieve friendship, love, redemption, forgivness, spirituality etc. His halo represents the idea that God lives within ALL of us. we are all equal, we are all Gods, we are all sacred, even this black gay man in the painting.
