David Cleofas Avila is a disabled artist living with schizophrenia. Before "discovering" painting in 2016, he worked as a peer mentor, housing coordinator and pizza delivery driver. He has a BA in Psychology from SSU and is a former contributing editor of Choices in Recovery; a national quarterly with a focus on living well with schizophrenia. David is also a former Paul Harris Fellow.
