I enjoy playing with colors and really appreciate the opportunity to have my work displayed in the Orlando City Hall Art Gallery - normally reserved for "real" artists. The Artworks Exhibit and Competition is a wonderful time to see the creative side of co-workers and their relatives of all ages. I was honored when my collage appeared in the NAP newsletter!

Mixed Media
For my mother who loved elephants. It contains hand-painted papers from her life such as journal entries from her grandchildren, maps from trips we took, and pages from the marriage ceremony her father used. 1st place, team category, 2016 exhibit. She was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer while it was on exhibit and died shortly thereafter. This piece was made of bits of her history for all to witness as her own memories were wrenched away so quickly.

Painting
48" x 36" on canvas. I was doing so much small, concentrated work that I decided to challenge myself to go big and loose. This won first place in the intermediate category in 2013 and I was shocked.
