Dick Kuykendall arrived in Napa with his family in 1952, at the age of 10. Having a father, grandfather and a great uncle who enjoyed photography, Dick spent many hours taking pictures and working in the darkroom at home. At Napa High School, Dick took photography as one of his electives. After the service Dick was employed as a firefighter with the City of Napa and during his career he worked countless hours photographing fires, accidents and investigation after the fires and then spending hours in the darkroom processing his work and others.
