Blue Ridge Trailhead, Natural Bridge State Park

This work was inspired by the sights, patterns, and colors experienced while hiking the Blue Ridge Trailhead at the Natural Bridge State Park in Natural Bridge Virginia. The overall design draws structure from topographical maps and the trail map itself. The trail is depicted with gold hatch marks surrounded by contour lines of various patterns, colors, and textures. The piece incorporates hand dyed cut paper, batik paper, decoupage papers, acrylics, hornet nest, and snakeskin.
