I live in Salt Lake City, Utah and love to paint, especially animals. For this Art Exhibit I chose my painting of Humuhumu, a colorful Hawaiian fish. I used acrylic paints because I felt that they would give the right texture and colors, and it is also my favorite medium. In addition to being so beautiful, humuhumu is a fascinating fish. It can fade its colors, sleeps on its side inside narrow coral crevices, has blue teeth and can grunt and snort. Humuhumu eat sea urchins that are harmful to corals and this way they help protect the corals.
