Silk habotai with ancient symbols and representations for the four cardinal elements: koi for water, buffalo for earth, dragonfly for air, and sun for fire. All my pieces are original water color paintings, made one at a time with no two exactly the same. The fabric starts as a plain white blank. I draw in the details with gutta, or resist, and then use a paint brush to fill in the color with professional silk dyes.
