Jaypix Belmer
Jaypix Belmer is a African American, Boston-based documentary photographer whose work captures the “visual soul” of their subjects. Jaypix digs deep with authentic engagement in communities of color, LGBTQ communities, and other historically or excluded communities in the Greater Boston area which is essential to the vision that captures rich cultural realities not visible in plain sight. Their professional style delves into the perception of class, capturing the unconsidered people and places who inhabit the urban landscape while attempting to bring light to humanity. Being able to capture a feeling rather than a moment is a unique aesthetic evident throughout their work.
Jaypix establishes strong relationships with the subjects they photograph through dialogue, which results in creative image making and overtime guidance, advice, and protection while Inspiring positive change in people through the exploration of human connection and a shared vision of freedom. When not assisting people with transformation, Jaypix works on local and national commercial projects based around anthropology and amplifying artist identity & environmental assets through archiving and exhibition to build vibrant livable neighborhoods.
